There are two ways to find videos using Encyclopedia Britannica | Academic: the Media Browse library and the search bar.
This library is divided into subject categories that link to playlists. The general categories from the first page are subdivided depending on the subject. For example, the Animals category is further divided here:
Encyclopedia Britannica | Academic is an online combination of Encyclopaedia Britannica plus Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, magazines and periodicals, and many other research tools provides the variety of reliable sources that students need to consult when conducting thorough collegiate research. The "Media Browse" feature compiles images and videos into categories for searching.
The video player in Encyclopedia Britannica | Academic has three main components: the viewer (blue), the transcript (yellow), and the playlist (red).
The Britannica viewer has video controls, the video timeline, and settings. You can use your mouse to play/pause, fast forward and reverse, and rewind 10 seconds. You can also use closed captions and more advanced video settings.
The video's transcript is in a text box across the bottom of the player. The transcript can be closed or opened using the "x" button in the upper right hand corner of the text box.
The Media Browse library in Encyclopedia Britannica | Academic is divided into playlists. The other videos in the playlist are listed in the side menu and can be scrolled through using the arrows above and below the menu.
