Printing at the Library and on Campus

This guide will walk students through different printing options in the Wolfgram Memorial Library and other locations on campus.

FAQ

Why doesn't printcenter.widener.edu recognize my login?

If you have never printed on campus before, you will need to swipe your Widener ID at a box next to a printer. This registers you to the printing system. You only need to do this once. You may need to wait 5-10 minutes after swiping your ID before attempting to log in again.

How much does printing cost?

Black & White printing is $.08 a page. Color printing is $.50 a page or $.90 for double sided printing. Everyone receives $32 of printing dollars at the beginning of each semester. The number of printing pages available to you each semester will depend on the type of print jobs you use.

I ran out of printing funds. How do I add more?

Once you have run out of printing funds for the semester, you can add more in the form of Pride Bucks. You can check your printing funds by swiping your Widener ID at one of the card reader boxes next to any printer.

When printing on a desktop, I'm asked for a job name and password. What do I enter?

The job name is just for you to identify which print job is yours once you swipe your card a printer station, so you can give it any name you want. The password is to ensure that no one else prints out your documents. You do not have to enter a password if you do not want to, or you can enter a password of your choosing.

Why isn't my color print job showing up?

Make sure you are at the color printer. If you are at the color printer and don't see your print job, it is possible you didn't select color printing when uploading your print job. Visit the Printing in the Library tab for desktop color printing or the Printing from a Laptop or Phone tab for mobile color printing instructions.

How long does a print job stay in the queue?

Print jobs remain in the queue for 15 minutes. If you do not print your print job within 15 minutes, you will need to upload the print job again in order to print it at a printer. No extra cost will be associated with this.

My print job came out wrong. How can I get it printed correctly?

You can visit the Technology Support Center on the Main floor of the Library for technical issues with the printer including ink issues or if a printer ran out of paper. Printers in other buildings on campus may have different technical services.

How do I get my funds back for incorrectly printed pages?

The One Card Office can answer any questions about printing funds, including refunds. You can reach them at onecard@widener.edu.

What about copying and scanning?

There is a copy machine that also scans next to the color printer on the Main floor of the library. Copies cost $.08, which is the same amount as Black & White printing. Scanning is free. The Technology Support Desk can assist you with both.
