Many people are familiar with reading books, but academic non-fiction is a lot different than reading a narrative. Most importantly, you usually don't need to read the entire book. Most print books will have a table of contents and index to help researchers find exactly what they need. eBooks provided by the library are full-text searchable. Both are a great source for definitions and foundational theories.
