What is RefWorks?

RefWorks "an online research management, writing and collaboration tool  -- is designed to help researchers easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies."

Widener University subscribes to RefWorks and it is accessible to all Widener University students, faculty and staff.

Creating an Account in RefWorks

Go to:

  • Click on Create Account

RefWorks Log In Screen

  • Enter Your Widener Email Address (You MUST use your Widener email address)

RefWorks Create Account Screen asking for an institutional email address i.e. your Widener Email Address

  • Create a Password
  • Click on Sign Up

RefWorks Create a Password Screen


You will be sent a confirmation email to the email address you signed up with.

  • Enter your Name, School, and Role
  • Navigate through the Tutorial and your account will be created.
