The Personal Librarian Program

Beginning in the Fall 2020 semester, each new student (first year and transfer) will be paired with a librarian to help them navigate the library's resources and services and the be kept abreast of library developments.

Services

Your Personal Librarian will:

  • Keep you informed with email messages highlighting library resources and services as well as library programming.
  • Meet with you (at your request) -- for one-on-one consultations on your projects and papers.
  • Answer your questions about Library policies, procedures and services, such as Interlibrary Loan, accessing library resources from off-campus, and downloading ebooks.
  • Assist with finding information for your research assignments, by helping you craft your research question, identify reliable information sources, and generating your search strategies
  • Point you in the direction of the best digital resources for your research
  • Help you with citing your sources properly and avoiding accidental plagiarism.
