Environmental Science

The study of environmental science serves as a valuable resource for learning more about changes around the world and how they affect us. As population numbers continue to increase so has the pressure on existing natural resources.

Ecology is a well-established biocentric interdisciplinary field that investigates the complex connections between all different kinds of organisms, ranging from bacteria to humans, as well as how these relationships evolve over time and in a variety of spatial and temporal dimensions.

Since its establishment in 1970, the mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. EPA develops regulations, ensures compliance, and issues policies, in coordination with state, tribal, and local governments.

Environmental Health discusses environmental effects on human health. It examines heavy metal pollution, biological effects of arsenic (on reproductive health, especially), effects of soil organic carbon, chemical pollution of drinking water, climate change and vector-borne diseases, marine fuels, particulate matter, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
