What Are Course Reserves?

The Reserve collection houses required course materials (Books, DVDs/VHS) which have been placed on reserve at the request a faculty member. All materials on reserve have shorter loan periods than regular circulating items.

Loan Periods are specified by the instructor:

  • 3 Hour Loan - in library use only.
  • Library Use Only - Library use only items must be used within the library and for a period of approximately 2 hours.
  • 1 Day loan - An item with a 1 day loan period may be checked out of the library at any time and returned the following day.
  • 3 Day or 7 Day loan - A 3 or 7 day item may be checked out of the library for the length of time designated.
  • 3 Hours Outside of Library - An item with a 3 hours outside of library may be checked out of the library at any time and returned 3 hours later.

You can retrieve materials from the reserve desk which is located just inside the front entrance of the library.
