About the JSTOR eBook Collection

To search for ebooks, navigate to the JSTOR database and conduct an Advanced Search (see below for instructions).

1. Select Advanced Search located below the search box on the home page
2. Type in your key terms
3. Under Item Type select Books

Note that when you conduct a search, your search results will show the individual chapters that relate to your search term. Once you view a chapter, you will be able to navigate through the other chapters in the book. The additional chapters will be located on the left-hand side of the screen.

To search our databases, go to the library home page, select A to Z Database List near the middle of the page, and you will be directed to the A to Z Database list.

Advanced Search

1. From the JSTOR home page search box, click Advanced Search
2. Enter your Search Terms / Keyword(s). NOTE: The default is to AND words together. To search for a phrase, put the words inside quotation marks.
3. Use the Item Type limiter and select Book.
4. Conduct your Search.

Search Results Page

1. Using the left navigation, refine results by filtering by Publication Date or Subject. You can also search within the results. 
2. The search results list displays Chapter Titles, including the page numbers. Listed below the chapter title is the Book Title, Authors and Publication Date. Also, linked Topics are listed. To continue searching these related topics, click on the link. 
3. Click on Download PDF located to the right of the chapter title to download the chapter. 
4. Click on Cite this Item located to the right of the chapter title to view the citation in MLA, APA and Chicago formats, and export the citation to a citation manager.

Chapter Record Page

1. The Book Chapter title and page numbers is viewable on the left navigation, along with a link to view the citation and linked subjects for more searching. 
2. Located on the left navigation is the Book Title, Authors and Table of Contents. Scroll through the Table of Contents to view the sections and chapters of the book. To view any of these sections, click on the link. 
3. The Chapter is viewable in the browser. To move to the next page, click on the arrows located to the right of the book page. 
4. Located at the top right, select the Share drop-down to share the chapter via Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, and email. Click on Save to temporarily save the book chapter in a workspace. This allows the user to save items in one place while conducting research. Click on Download PDF to download the PDF version of the book chapter.
